Hatcher wines cover a wide spectrum of tastes and are reasonably priced. Current production is from fruit grown in the Sierra Foothill region. Our commitment is to this region, but when necessary, we will seek the best fruit from other areas as well. Matt’s wine making style is still evolving as he learns new and innovative viticulture and wine making practices to yield powerful, yet balanced, red wines, and white wines with classic aromas, rich textures and lingering flavors of French oak.

The Gold Rush brought many immigrants moving west to try their luck mining these hills for gold. They were granted claims, many of them sized ten by ten. Today we work larger plots of this same land for a very different reward, mining the Sierra Foothills for wines of distinction.

Our tasting room is in the 160 year old apothecary building in the center of historic downtown Murphys. Wine tasting is available in our climate controlled tasting room or outside on the new front and side deck. We also offer private tasting in the Fresco lounge and Private patio. Groups of 7+ should make a reservation.

Since 1999, Frog’s Tooth Vineyards and Winery has been growing, crafting, pouring, and sharing our hand crafted small batch wines from the Sierra Foothills. What we don’t grow on our beautiful 10 acre vineyard in Copperopolis CA, we source from other local growers who share our passion.
