The 1st Annual Wine Cheese and Olive Festival
The festival offers an opportunity and a chance for everyone to enjoy wines from around the the valley and surrounding areas paired with delicious local cheese and olive makers, plus the opportunity to learn more about Calaveras county history and its connection to Wines, and Olives.
Tickets for The Calaveras Wine, Cheese and Olive Festival are available online at www.calaverasfest.org and from the list of local businesses listed below. Pre-Ordered Tickets are $40.00 or $45.00 at the door, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).

The event is scheduled for August 05, 2017 at La Contenta Golf Course in Valley Springs, California. The Event Will Feature Live Music, a People’s Choice Wine Competition, and More. Proceeds Will Support Community Programs. A first of its kind festival is set to celebrate the bounty of the Gold Country this August. Fine wines and gourmet foods not only go well together at the dinner table, they grow well together in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. Fertile soils, endless pastures, and a unique climate make this a world-class agricultural region. The Calaveras Wine, Cheese & Olive Festival celebrates three of the area’s premier products. Dozens of local wineries, olive growers, and cheese makers are expected to participate. Catano Winery was the first to finalize their participation, and the list is growing quickly. Guests will be treated to an evening of wine tasting, gourmet food, and live music. Doors open at 4:00 pm and festivities will continue until 8:00 pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to help choose the Gold Country’s best wine in a People’s Choice competition held in conjunction with the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance. The event is open to adults age 21 and over.
Tickets are available for the advance purchase price of $40.00. Interested parties can contact La Contenta at (209) 772-1082 for purchasing information. Tickets, if available, will be $45.00 at the door. The event is sponsored by The Rotary Club of San Andreas. Proceeds will help support the newly-formed CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for foster youth in the county and other community programs. It is expected to be a highly successful fundraiser, garnering over 150 responses from potential guests within less than three weeks of being posted on Facebook. All of the guests at the festival will swirl, sniff and sip their way through plenty of wines participating in the festival. Along with great cheeses from the surrounding areas and of course the best olives from the foothills and surrounding areas. People’s Choice Competition 2017. All event guests will have the opportunity to vote for their favorites in the 2017 People’s Choice competition. The categories include Best Red Wine, Best White Wine, Best Cheese, and Best Olive/Olive Oil.
Fine Arts & Entertainment There will be a themed exhibition of fine art work, created by local artists. The exhibition is organized by the Calaveras Arts Council.
