The Calaveras Wine Alliance has rebranded and restructured its wine education series previously titled Wines Of The World to Calaveras Uncorked Wine Education Series.

Kicking off the new series on Thursday March 9th at 6pm in the Ballroom of The Murphys Hotel, will be winemaker and winery owner Rich Gilpin of Lavender Ridge Vineyards and Coppermine Winery. Rich Gilpin has over 30 years in the wine industry, is respected for his winemaking history and experience with Rhone and Bordeaux varietals and his family’s passion for organic farming and culinary arts. Rich specializes in native yeast fermented French wines and has been utilizing micro-oxygenation oval egg tanks in his production methods. Participants will enjoy tasting and learning about regional wines made from micro-oxygenation concrete egg and upright tank production along with special guest, Gerhard Ziemer of Nomblot Concrete Wine Tanks of France who has worked with Rich crafting French varietal wines for over twelve years.
